Bid Writer/Estimator
The Role
Assist the bid team in the administration, research, preparation and presentation of all bids and proposals.
Work closely with the Project Management team to handover new business.
Functional Responsibilities
- Support the development of the company’s bid and business development capability and offering.
- Manage clients and promote the capabilities and professionalism of the company.
- Support the safe and successful management and execution of all Projects.
- Undertake and deputise Project Manager duties.
- Promote and develop the company’s culture, technical excellence and policies and procedures.
- Assist in the identification, design, and development of CRM tools.
- To assist in negotiating and maintaining favourable business partner terms.
- To develop and maintain client relationships.
Day to day responsibilities
- React quickly to new bid requests and project awards and to record and maintain the relevant registers and workflows.
- Attend site walkovers, prepare bids and proposals in co-ordination with the bid team.
- Manage new project award handover meetings with the Project Management team transferring critical knowledge and maintaining business momentum.
- Attend networking events, client workshops and presentations.
- Assist in mentoring junior staff with improving their commercial awareness.
- Assist the Project Management team with change management and commercial dispute resolution.
Responsible to the Business Development Lead.
Requirements
- BSc/BEng degree level qualification in geology/geoscience/civil engineering or a degree in quantity surveying/construction management.
- Minimum 3 years ground investigation experience.
- Excellent health and safety knowledge and awareness.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Excellent IT skills.

Site Engineer
A2 Site Investigation (A2SI) continues to grow into 2026, and we are looking for forward-thinking, motivated professionals to join our London team on the South Bank.
Who We’re Looking For
We want to hear from degree-qualified geotechnical/geoenvironmental engineers and engineering geologists with proven experience in planning and managing ground investigations on site. You should be eager to make a positive contribution to both our project delivery and collaborative company culture.
You’ll bring strong site health and safety awareness, project management, technical understanding, and critical thinking skills to ensure the safe and successful delivery of investigations in challenging urban environments.
We welcome applications from all levels of experience, and seek those who are keen to work on UK-wide projects with a London-based ground and structural investigation company.
The Role
This is a site-focused position complemented by structured office time for project preparation, reporting, and professional development. The role involves regular travel and occasional overnight stays, and applicants must hold a full UK driving licence.
About You
- Experienced in geotechnical or geoenvironmental site work, ideally in a Supervisory role.
- Excellent communicator with strong organisation and negotiation skills
- Committed to health, safety, and quality standards
- Proficient in technical reporting and IT
- Familiarity with CAD, AGS, OpenGround (HoleBASE), or other geotechnical software is advantageous
